The dreamwork work challenge, The DA Vinci rooms

received_1519738684838520As part of my visit to the London Escaped rooms, in East London. I was also invited to try out their new DA Vinci Room. This a wholly team work based challenge.

This escape room is split into two rooms and each room holds their own task. The room includes task where you will need to think quickly in your feet and some will require working in your little teams and some require you to work with those in the other room.

As potential students of the teacher Leonardo DaVinci, he has set out many challenges to test his potential students. So do you think you have the skills to tackle the task he has set aside for you?

I really enjoyed the task within these rooms, it really makes you think about what your next steps could be. As well as ensuring both teams work together to ensure your freedom. received_2210944435858952

The only comments I would make is that even though the room could fit around 12 people however I think its best with no more than six as whole the rooms are large in size, the task within does not sufficiently ensure everyone is busy at all times.

I would give this room a 4* as I really enjoyed the concept and think as one newcomer, London Escaped has really put itself on the map!

Thanks again to Love Pop Ups London for inviting me along to experience these new rooms to keep my love for escape room alive.

Dare you enter the Cabin – an Escape London adventure

IMG_20180329_1One of the newest rooms from Escape London . The Cabin is there to challenge your investigation skills as we as your observational skills. We played this at their Shepherds Bush location and they also have other locations in Shadwell

A game requires a lot of team work as there are lots of puzzles for everyone one to get involved in. The game is not linear so you and your team can split up into little groups and all get involved.

There are definitely a lot of puzzles to be solved and everyone will be sure to be kept busy finding all your missing items in order to escape before the killer Hunter returns.

Can you make it out in 60 minutes with all the items you’ll need to find your way back home?

The room itself was only two days old and as a group of 7 experienced players we managed to solve all the puzzles and escape in just 28 minutes.. Definitely a record for me and the group. For those who are less experienced then look carefully or else you might miss the missing components.

A great game however one recommendation I would suggest would be to make the game more challenging is to not have the clues too coordinated.. As once you found the number the order was easily figure out.. However again as experienced players it might be easy for us to spot. Also maybe to keep the number of players to 4-5 as I felt that would make the game more harder to break.

I really enjoyed this game and would like to thank Love Pop Up London and Escape London for the  invite to test out their new room. received_10156218182711064

Travel back in time with professor Inkwell

Looking for an escape room with more of a story and a murder mystery feel? Enjoyed playing cludeo? Well this one aims to satisfy both needs.

Based in an outside venue, this challenge you to observe and digest the vast amount of information placed in front of you to firstly find the missing pieces to help you fix the time machine that could take you and your fellow investigators back to the future. A failure to do so and your story could end up very differently from the story you started with.

This game is based on the number of players a maximum of 8 and each of you will be given a character to play.. Dress up if you are that inclined to really get into character.. Always a bit of role playing to get everyone in the mood.

Without giving too much of the game away, you have 60 minutes to find all the pieces and to get the time machine up and running again.. While a secondary challenge is to find out which one of you is the murderer and what do you have to hide? Each one of you could be it and how are you going to find our?

A really interactive game, though I would say the vast amount of reading you have to do for this is a little overwhelming and you may end up with only half of the team even knowing what was going on in the story. I suggest less paperwork to digest so that everyone can all participate in the murder hunt!

Overall, a really enjoyable game and great for the warmer weather where you can enjoy the great outdoors with a bit of interactive problems solving.

Thanks to Inkwell Investigation  and Love Pop Up London for the invite to the game.

ABQLondon-cocktails masterclass

IMG_20180314_191916OK, just to let you know that if you have never seen Breaking Bad don’t worry I promise they won’t be kicking you out.. The threats there.. But heads down and he won’t see you.. Only kidding!IMG_20180314_211910

So what is ABQLondon and what’s its all about you ask? Well let me share some background information with you..

“ABQ is the world’s first immersive molecular cocktail bar where you get to make and infuse your own drinks in an RV (Motorhome) on some banging hip-hop and gangster rap tunes.” which will have got grooving all night long.

Started in 2015 in London, they have travelled to the the City of Love and even ventured across the pond with a pop up based in the City the Never Sleeps. They have just opened up in Manchester so if London isnt your part of town then maybe look into that.

Now, why the breaking bad references you ask.. Well if by entering the RV you don’t know.. Then I say roll with it..just enjoy the performance of your host. IMG_20180314_200235

Each entry gives you two drinks where can can select a drink of your preference, most of the drinks are per person. There are a couple where you can grab a few friends and using scientific equipment. Oh, there is a welcome drink so let me add it up again.. It’s three drinks for your entry fee of £32.50.. Bargain! IMG_20180314_204114

However before you start, make sure you put on protective outerwear so that any spillages as trust me.. Alcohol and science can make the most careful of persons a little clumsy.

They also cater for the non drinkers too so don’t worry you won’t miss out. .

Looking for a new bar experience? Lets check out Studio 88

IMG_20180201_222359So everyone will know that you are never short of a bar or two when you live the busy city of London.

I mean every corner you turn there is a bar/ pub or drinking hole calling out for punters alike. Now how does a one stand out from the crowds? Well lets welcome Leicester Square new food and cocktails hang out spot Studio 88.

IMG_20180201_193730This place has it all, great cocktails and yummy food that is served in cute little bamboo “California Cones”, think salmon tartar, coconut chicken curry, miso pork, arancini to name a few of the culinary delights you could be enticed with. At £19.00 for six cones and a glass of prosecco for London prices, I call it a bargain!

IMG_20180201_180147Now lets talk about the bar, one thing I would say is bring shades as this bar is bright in neon especially when you stroll down the stairs into the main bar area..I was invited to the press event along with Jo from Love Pop Up London the staff was amazing making sure we was well looked after.IMG_20180201_220933

If we didn’t feel safe, we noticed a few detectives scattered around the bar. They have a private area where you could hire out for your own personal party!

IMG_20180201_203804My favourite cocktail of the night has to be Hitsville Studios, Finlandia vodka, St Germain, Cucumber and Elderflower cordial and fresh lime juice…mmmm I also love how much you could have just ordering a drink, this one comes with a mini polaroid picture for you to keep, erm hello anyone else agree that nights this fun needs to be documented!

IMG_20180201_184200Also little birdie tells me they do happy hour! Everyday 5-7 all cocktails are £5.00 and on Monday nights after 7pm they do 2-4-1 cocktails, now I don’t know anyone who turns their nose down on a good deal.

Oh wait, I forgot to tell you that they have a 6 piece band every night waiting to take your request,  so you can’t complain if the music is bad, cause you haven’t done anything about it!

Canal boat cruise picnic? Yes please!

When I was asked if I would be interested in cruising down the canal from Paddington basin, to Camden, I couldn’t help but jumped a little in excitement.. I have never done a canal cruise, I mean I have seen the canal boats all long the London canals.. But driving a boat down.. Now that’s something you don’t do everyday.

Now, Go Boat is the only self drive electric power boating experience in London, this is a follow up on the success Go Boat had in Scandinavia.
The journey take place by Merchant Square nearest station I would say is Edgware road station.

You can book various hours, however we think that a minimum of two hours are required.. We had two hours on our trip and you really don’t know where they go.. I mean when they said time flies when you are having fun.. They didn’t exaggerate!

Just in case you think that they let all these Londoners loose on the canals of London.. Don’t worry.. We have all been briefed of all the tight squeeze and  things to avoid as well as a map to merrily bobbing along the canals towards Camden Town. Apparently this journey should take no more than 60 mins.. Well, let’s just say we wanted to get to Camden but may not have made it in the two hours we had.

It’s such a difference experience to see London from a different side.. Passing little Venice, along Regents Park, where you can spot a few zoo animals.. It just makes anyone so happy.

Our trip was also filled with lovely drinks provided by Fentimans I have always loved their delicious Ginger Beer, I didn’t even know that they do alcoholic drinks.. The pre mixed Gin and tonic.. Was delicious.. The drinks are all organically brewed and most are gluten free too!

Together with vegetable crips from Emily’s Crisp a healthy and yummy treat for the cruise. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon picnic experience.

I loved the experience and would love definitely be recommending it to friends and family, looking to enjoy a different side of London. Thanks again to Jo from @lovepopupslondon for the invite.

Immersive experience? Secret Theatre-Project Mayhem

Secret cinema has brought the movies to life and brought  us closer to the film maker vision.. So what’s difference here? The Secret Theatre – Project Mayhem is the return from Secret Studio Lab. An immersive theatre experience which as soon as you get into the door of the entrance the actors area in character and you have to comply. Don’t forget your password!!
I won’t give too much details on the movie or show its based on, but regulars will grasp it as soon as they are inside..there is a dress code, so participate as you see fit..

This was my first immersive experience and I admit I was a little confused as to what we had to do.. The venue was huge, but I felt the activities didn’t occupy the space we’ll enough and some areas were inundated with people, while others looked bare.

You are put into groups and are given task to complete.. It’s a great way to meet new people some are newbies and some love the immersive experience.

I put my hands down to the actors in this, they did an amazing job and really brought it to life for us.. In our group, we had a mole.. It was so much fun seeing how the story plays out..

For me personally, I didn’t enjoy the film it was based on.. But that’s just me.. However the whole experience has given me a taste and if I was to pick a movie I did like, I would really like to get stuck in..
Thanks to Love Pop Up London for the opportunity and Secret Studio Lab for the taster.. It had definitely made me think twice when watching my next movie!

P. S we weren’t allowed any pictures so these are pictures from Secret Studio Lab
