[INVITE] The revival of the game- Players Bingo!

So, are you one of those people who is down by the bingo halls every Saturday, trying your luck on a winning streak, or are you like me, who have never been introduced to the game before, because I admit, I always thought it was a pastime my grandma would of spent her Saturday afternoon at… please don’t hate me ūüė£.

So when I was kindly invited with a group of @LovePopUpsLondon bloggers to attend a launch event at Players Bingo down in Camden, I was definitely intrigued, why the sudden change of heart you wonder?

Well let’s says there’s been a lot of non traditional style games popping up all around London and I have truly been enlighten that Bingo is the way to go. I have recently heard of #musical Bingo? That’s definitely next on my list.

Players Bingo is hosted within the long standing Mecca bingo site in the heart of Camden. Bookings are available every Thursday and Saturday from 7:00pm. Tickets cost ¬£12 each and over 18’s only- they will check!

Players Bingo is no any ordinary bingo experience, they have cleverly introduce live music, cabaret entertainment, all hosted in the traditional feeling of a bingo …a true mix of new and old perfectly complimentary.

For me a newbie to the game, I wanted to know more, the host was both engaging and funny with what I must admit the most sparkly outfit ever!

I was introduced to both the traditional numbers being called out from dear #brenda who I might add is the machine..as well as an electronic game..

Which I never expected, but hey I didn’t know what to expect, so everything was new and fascinating to me…also, the prizes was very unexpected, I mean there was a fridge freezer, a drone, and wait for it, a two person canoe…yes you heard right!

Before the start of the game, we enjoyed some cocktails which they have designed for the game, all bingo related I might add…all very yummy.

Every month, Players Bingo will be welcoming different food pop up restaurant to provide a selection of finger food available to satisfy hunger players during the game.

During the evening, while the food selection was good, unfortunately, service needed a little more refinery. Maybe as there was a lot of people invited to the launch party, cause food was being delivered at different pace and unfortunately half our party was served while the other waited over an hour before service.

This was mentioned to the organisers and while I appreciate it was their second week, better coordination would have definitely made my experience more memorable..

While there was a little hiccup in relation to the service from the waitresses that night, I didn’t let it spoil my evening and I’m ready to book my next bingo night out with my friends!

The Grand is a one stop shop where you can arrange a date night for two, or three depending on your preferences. To a box area for a hen or birthday party. Either way no one would leave this place not having enjoyed their night.

If you are coming for a movie, or a night out at the club, be prepared to have the best night out ever!! With fun competitions and drinks as prizes for best dress and a dancing competition.. The competitiveness will sure come out of anyone who dares enter!

For those coming for a movie night check out their website to see what’s showing and best practice all their songs do you can really get involved at the singalong part at the end of the movie.

I went with @lovepopupslondon¬†to relive the classic of ‘The Little Shop of Horrors’ the movie on the big screen which really gives of the in house cinema experience and the MC of the night really got the crowd going.¬†IMG_20180407_192712

Secret cellar, and underground experience.

I was kindly invited to attend a performance at the vaulty Towers at Waterloo.. It’s not normally a venue I have experienced.. The decor I say is¬†eclectic, it’s a miss mash of anything and everything put together.. One area had period clothing, the other is covered in ivy and gargoyles and ¬†skulls around.. I think if I didn’t need to be here I wouldn’t have found it.

The bar had a great choice of drinks available so that should definitely keep the punters happy.

There was a little misunderstanding on my part I must add.. That I turned up for the wrong performance.. But the previous show was running 45 mins late (that was the show I missed!) so there was a little bit of a wait.. However the crew was very accommodating and allowed me to see the next show instead.. I didn’t know where the show was going to be held as it wasn’t obvious.. But when the time came.. The cellar door open leading to a basement area where the performers were waiting.. It’s not a proper state more set up like a front room with miss match furniture.. No seating plan.. Just huddle together was the instructions.

The comedy sketch was based on improvisation.. So audience participation was important and I enjoy these as you do feel part of the performance and you can lead it and there was a code word ‘die’ if you don’t like where the sketch was going.. Call me a control freak.. But that sense of control is really enjoyable for me..

The MC Michael said that going forward they will have more guest performances so I would be interested in going back to see more..

Please note I attended this as a promotional event however all reviews are my own.. Thanks to @lovepopupslondon for arranging this and also secret cellar for the performance.
