[INVITE] The revival of the game- Players Bingo!

So, are you one of those people who is down by the bingo halls every Saturday, trying your luck on a winning streak, or are you like me, who have never been introduced to the game before, because I admit, I always thought it was a pastime my grandma would of spent her Saturday afternoon at… please don’t hate me 😣.

So when I was kindly invited with a group of @LovePopUpsLondon bloggers to attend a launch event at Players Bingo down in Camden, I was definitely intrigued, why the sudden change of heart you wonder?

Well let’s says there’s been a lot of non traditional style games popping up all around London and I have truly been enlighten that Bingo is the way to go. I have recently heard of #musical Bingo? That’s definitely next on my list.

Players Bingo is hosted within the long standing Mecca bingo site in the heart of Camden. Bookings are available every Thursday and Saturday from 7:00pm. Tickets cost £12 each and over 18’s only- they will check!

Players Bingo is no any ordinary bingo experience, they have cleverly introduce live music, cabaret entertainment, all hosted in the traditional feeling of a bingo …a true mix of new and old perfectly complimentary.

For me a newbie to the game, I wanted to know more, the host was both engaging and funny with what I must admit the most sparkly outfit ever!

I was introduced to both the traditional numbers being called out from dear #brenda who I might add is the machine..as well as an electronic game..

Which I never expected, but hey I didn’t know what to expect, so everything was new and fascinating to me…also, the prizes was very unexpected, I mean there was a fridge freezer, a drone, and wait for it, a two person canoe…yes you heard right!

Before the start of the game, we enjoyed some cocktails which they have designed for the game, all bingo related I might add…all very yummy.

Every month, Players Bingo will be welcoming different food pop up restaurant to provide a selection of finger food available to satisfy hunger players during the game.

During the evening, while the food selection was good, unfortunately, service needed a little more refinery. Maybe as there was a lot of people invited to the launch party, cause food was being delivered at different pace and unfortunately half our party was served while the other waited over an hour before service.

This was mentioned to the organisers and while I appreciate it was their second week, better coordination would have definitely made my experience more memorable..

While there was a little hiccup in relation to the service from the waitresses that night, I didn’t let it spoil my evening and I’m ready to book my next bingo night out with my friends!

Rosso, shall we brunch?[INVITE]

As a food lover and all, I love an opportunity to try out new and different places to stuff my face (sorry, I meant enjoy some food with some friends😉)

So when @Lovepopupslondon and @Rosso invited me and some bloggers to try out their prosecco flowing brunch event, even if I was busy, I cancelled all plans… Like who ever says no to a brunch with prosecco.

Rosso is located in the very central High Street Kensington, of West London so an ideal location if you’ve just finished a shopping or an cultural visit to the many local and free museums London has to offer.

The decor of the restaurant is tastefully designed with lots of pictures opportunity for those who love to capture every moment. There was lots of amazing wines, prosecco on offer and the staff was more than happy to explain their selection to you.

On arrival the staff has beautifully placed some amazing starters out in the main dinning area, I really love this concept, an unlimited buffet style starters, all freshly prepared and constantly topped up..

The selection of bread on offer was great, I’ve never tried charcoal bread, and it was super yummy!

This was the first of the many plates I had…😉

The mozzarella balls to me was the star of the show, super creamy and totally yummy…I could eat that all day.

Rosso carbonara with figs
Spicy arrabbiata chitarra spaghetti with seafood ‘nduja’
Florentine poached eggs with bacon and hollandaise sauce
Mixed bean, poached eggs, sausage crumble served with crunchy pancetta and lemon zest

The choice of the main was a little limited and we had a vegetarian in our group with some severe allergies, which the restaurant tried to accommodate.

I chose the spicy arrabbiata however I couldn’t taste any seafood nduja? I also felt the dish was a little bland to my liking, a little more salt was required.

The desserts selection was a little on the limited side also however some of the tartlets were definitely worth saving my desserts stomach for!

Similar to a Bakewell tart
Lemon muffins- a little on the dry side
These were definitely my favourite

I had a great time enjoying the food and free flowing bubbles which the server made sure our glasses were never empty, such great tentive attention.

The meal was finished off with a great coffee..

Thank you again to Rosso for the invite, a great venue and super reasonable free bubbles brunch if you are looking for a place around the High Street Kensington area.

Circus -Pan Asian food and entertainment venue

IMG_20180725_180510I was recently invited to pop along to Circus a venue tucked away amongst the hussle and bustle of Covent Garden. Actually I even walked passed it trying to locate it as it doesn’t have a signage above its entrance.. See how exclusive that makes the experience.. Only those in the know eh?

I was here to sample their new Christmas menu (ops sorry to mention that word in July) but great venues get booked up really quickly so you’ll be glad I’ve told you. We was offered a sample of their amazing canapés.. The food here is a pan Asian fusion which I am all for.IMG_20180730_1

I think my favourite of the night was definitely the yellow tail sashimi and the salt and pepper squid.. Yum. IMG_20180725_184240

As you enter the venue, p. s I found it via the menu on the wall outside.. Useful tip! You are risked to your table and a free cloakroom service is available if you are coming after a long day at the office. The main dining area consists in one very long opaque table with little tables scattered around the room. The comfy sofa looking chairs are calling me.IMG_20180725_180514

The kitchen area is open and viable along the side of the dining area. Our table was very close to the bar, which is great! IMG_20180725_180528We also sample some of their amazing wine and even better cocktails (they made a punch with Gingerbread syrup, with grapefruit and vodka) it was devine!IMG_20180725_190001

However the best part of this venue is the in-house entertainment department they have who design and coordinate the half hourly entertainment on show.

IMG_20180725_183955Entertainment is provided every night from 6:30pm until 8:00pm and until late during Friday and the weekend. They have singers and performers to enlighten your evening drinks or dinner plans. When we visited there was a group of ladies celebrating a 60 birthday party so the venue caters for all ages (18+) of course!

IMG_20180725_183925The night we visited we were entertained by fire eating performers, a drag queen singer belting out classics,  an aerial display and an acrobatics show. We were all in awe for sure.

It was definitely a great evening and if this has enticed you to think about it for your next birthday or big party do? Then do check out their website as they have sharing menu for groups. Just a note that for London prices this is average and with the added entertainment element it’s definitely worth a treat out.

I was offered this experience via the lovely Jo from @lovepopupslondon and while a sponsored post all reviews are my own.

The Cauldron- Lets get magical!

IMG_20180606_214450Enjoy conjuring up your own magical cocktails? Well The Cauldron may be just what you are looking for.

So what is The Cauldron all about? Well let me explain, this is a magical Cocktail Experience is a 1 hr 45 min immersion class in London,

What should you expect? Well currently hosted in an East London venue, The Cauldron welcomes guest on entry by handing each mixologist wannabe a robe and a wand is handed over a card deposit (some people say is very loosely based on the Harry Potter franchise?).IMG_20180606_200442

Guests are then given potions and instructions on how to use their magic wands to brew and conjure up drinkable elixirs.IMG_20180606_200839

Tickets are £29.99 and include The Cauldron collaboration beer, two molecular cocktails, and the interactive experience, for those non drinkers don’t worry non-alcohol options are available.IMG_20180606_205858

The venue will pair each group into groups of 2 as this helps with the seating as well as the potion mixing. I was honoured to be invited with a group of bloggers to experience by Love Pop London and I can honestly say that everyone had a great time.

IMG_20180606_212857The Cauldron also has additional drinks on offer which I can only say is magical! The Dragon’s Breath is one of my favourite as the fire is real! Fire alarms has been know to go off every time this drink is served!

The venue also has a hidden secret, venture into their magical wardrobe and you will find out what is lurking behind those doors.. don’t worry its not as scary as their toilet :).

I have also been told that The Cauldron will soon be travelling over to the other side of the pond, NYC in September before coming back to London at a permanent location, I cannot wait!

Now lets talk about their cocktails, each guest (wizard/ witches- as you shall now be known as) will use the potions set out in front of you to conjure up your magical brews..your magical wand is used to add final touches and to unlock secret ingredients, so be ready to wave it around and watch as your drink transform in front of your eyes.IMG_20180606_203015

The Cauldron has teamed up with London’s Fourpure Brewing Co. to design a craft beer that uses ingredients central to witchcraft and magic.  The result is a beer that we call “Four Cauldrons.”  It is inspired by a witch or wizard’s most essential tool: the magic wand.  Four Cauldrons has a base of wand wood– in this case oak– and a core of ingredients used in magical history– coriander, ginger, and vanilla.  For those who doesn’t enjoy a beer or two, then they do offer alternatives, all drinks are dispensed by their tree of life. Be ready to be called up to meet the said tree with your wand in hand.IMG_20180606_213129

All in all I would recommend this experience to all who loves the magical feel, and obviously a drink or two.

ABQLondon-cocktails masterclass

IMG_20180314_191916OK, just to let you know that if you have never seen Breaking Bad don’t worry I promise they won’t be kicking you out.. The threats there.. But heads down and he won’t see you.. Only kidding!IMG_20180314_211910

So what is ABQLondon and what’s its all about you ask? Well let me share some background information with you..

“ABQ is the world’s first immersive molecular cocktail bar where you get to make and infuse your own drinks in an RV (Motorhome) on some banging hip-hop and gangster rap tunes.” which will have got grooving all night long.

Started in 2015 in London, they have travelled to the the City of Love and even ventured across the pond with a pop up based in the City the Never Sleeps. They have just opened up in Manchester so if London isnt your part of town then maybe look into that.

Now, why the breaking bad references you ask.. Well if by entering the RV you don’t know.. Then I say roll with it..just enjoy the performance of your host. IMG_20180314_200235

Each entry gives you two drinks where can can select a drink of your preference, most of the drinks are per person. There are a couple where you can grab a few friends and using scientific equipment. Oh, there is a welcome drink so let me add it up again.. It’s three drinks for your entry fee of £32.50.. Bargain! IMG_20180314_204114

However before you start, make sure you put on protective outerwear so that any spillages as trust me.. Alcohol and science can make the most careful of persons a little clumsy.

They also cater for the non drinkers too so don’t worry you won’t miss out. .

Please note that I was invited to attend this event by @lovepopupslondon, thanks Jo! however all reviews are my own.

Black Sheep Coffee- Leave the herd behind.

IMG_20180122_202037So, I admit I love the smell of coffee but I would not call myself a connoisseur in the art of coffee making or drinking. I mean I love a good flat white and a chai latte but I know that knowing the type of beans you drink and how it is brewed is what it is all about.

I was invited by a Timeout tastemaker Jane for a coffee masterclass at Black Sheep Coffee at their Regent Street branch with Jo from Love Pop London, where we met the team Tony, Tom and Monia who made sure we were looked after.

I have never heard of the this particular branch of coffee and when the invite came for something to make the long month of January more interesting and caffeine filled, I jumped at the chance. I joined my friends Joanne, Kim and Jason for a fun filled night and as Tony said, if I walked out without coffee down my top then I haven’t had enough fun.

The night started with Tony and his team handing out espresso martini, now I think I am going to like tonight!IMG_20180122_181535

While you may think this is any other coffee houses, this one is different, by day they maybe your standard, grab a coffee and satisfy your caffeine addiction whereas by night the bartenders awake and they will delight with the many cocktails they have up their sleeves. This makes them something truly special.

Their space are graffiti filled but not overwhelming so if you need a quiet spot to conduct those meetings outside of the office, this is a great space for it.IMG_20180122_201042

So let me tell you more about our masterclass, they split us into two groups where one group learnt the art of making the perfect cup of coffee, which has been mathematically worked out to precision. To the weight of the grinded coffee; the temperature of the water and the amount of liquid required to make the perfect cup. This made me appreciate the amount work that goes into making that cup of coffee which we are quick to order and slurp but did we really enjoy all the notes and flavours it provided?IMG_20180122_194804

Our next lesson was with barista Matt, he patiently taught us the skill of latte art, and well I must say, I think Tony should give me a job with my first try (a fluke? I don’t think so!) Ok, ok you got me, I made have made some initial spillage, but it was all part of the fun.. I am sure thats what Tony told us. On a serious note, I now understand and appreciate when my barista makes that fern or heart in my cup of coffee.. its not as easy as you think, as both your hands need to be moving constantly, theres no stopping to think about it, once you start pouring you just have to keep going.IMG_20180122_192316

Thank you again for the lovely masterclass, I would be back to try out more of Black Sheep Coffee branches which have branches around London and Manchester, so do look out for them when you are next looking for your caffeine fix.
